Radio Control Systems - The 2G4 Revolution!

When it comes to radio control, FM is undoubtedly better than AM. But now, for even better performance there is 2.4GHz Spread Spectrum Technology which uses virtually glitch free digital data transmission. Whilst these sets are a bit more expensive, they are far superior in performance and don’t use any crystals. It’s all done with micro-computer technology and collision avoidance software which identifies a free frequency. Also with more channels (controls), they enable operation of more controls on locomotives, other than just the regulator. E.g. Valve gear, blower, drain cocks, brakes!  I can supply 2.4GHz sets by Spektrum, Futaba and Sanwa

THE ‘SMART’ FUTURE FOR R/C SPEED CONTROL
Mac•five is no ordinary R/C speed controller, because it’s a ‘smart’ controller with its’ own on-board computer, giving you ‘drive by wire’ technology. Unlike some computer gadgets Mac•five is simple to fit, and simple to use. It automatically aligns to your transmitter’s joystick centre-off position when switching on, so there’s nothing to adjust.
Mac•five MkII is designed for battery powered garden railway locos in 7mm, 10mm, 16mm and G scales. With its’ MOS-4 software, it gives realistic performance from shunting to express speeds, whilst ‘intelligently’ suppressing signal interference such as the ‘Rusty Bolt’ effect. Easy to fit, with screw terminal connectors (including one for direction lights), it has power fail and reverse power protection, making it almost ‘bomb’ proof, and is designed to work with any of the common brands of R/C equipment, world-wide e.g. Futaba, Acoms, Hitec.

Operating Voltage: 9v to 24v DC Type SA, or 6 to 18v (SA and LA).  Current Ratings: 1A*(cont.) LA. 4A*(cont) SA. Higher current (7A* cont.) UHC-SA to order.     * without heat sinks

SAM-2 MkII  is even smaller than the Mk1!
THE SERVO SMOOTHER FOR AM/FM R/C STEAM LOCOS
Do your R/C steam locos suffer from servo jitters?  If they do, SAM-2 can change all that, using the same computer chip technology as the Mac•five. The suppression level can be set, via the transmitter at switch on, to suit the operating conditions.  SAM-2 works on any common AM or FM radio, world-wide e.g. Futaba, Acoms etc. Available in single channel basic (SAM-2SS), or with AutoHold (SAM-2AS), which holds the servo position whilst the transmitter is off, and in a dual channel version with AutoHold (SAM-2AD). Each version has three independent suppression settings per channel.
